Kronach, 22 February 2018. Germany's home entertainment pioneer, Loewe, has integrated five new features into its entertainment concept. The Loewe Software Update was recently made and opens up many new possibilities, including DVB Radio Recording, a modernised user interface for the Media Player, access to SAT>IP servers, Screen Mirroring as well as the Loewe app.
The new software features at a glance
DVB Radio Recording lets you record radio broadcasts quickly and easily and is just as convenient as recording TV programmes on your Loewe television — so you can listen to your favourite songs from recorded radio programs in your own audio archive whenever you wish.
Sit back and relax with the new Media Player interface. Say goodbye to black and white and prepare to enter a world of colour — the Loewe Media Player’s background now dynamically adapts to the thumbnails in the new carousel view in the photo and music player. Selecting a song in the carousel view starts the music player automatically after one second.
This update enables Loewe TV sets to access SAT>IP servers as of software 4.4 and thus receive TV programs via the home network. Using the search function, SAT>IP can now be selected as the signal source. Initially, the ASTRA channel list will be available as LCN; additional station lists will follow with future software updates.
The Screen Mirroring feature makes it possible to share content quickly and easily. The smartphone interface (Android smartphones with version 5.0 or higher) or a compatible computer with diverse content can be directly and wirelessly mirrored on the Loewe TV set — share unique holiday shots, funny videos, your favourite music and even game apps with family and friends.
Absolute freedom with the new Loewe app Version 1.3
Loewe makes the television experience ultra convenient. It turns smartphones and tablets within a home network into mobile televisions. The Loewe app also allows you to use your smartphone or tablet to access all television content. Simple and intuitive.
The app now offers many new features: from version 1.3, images from your smartphone (requires Android 5.0 / iOS 8 or later) or tablet can be streamed to the selected Loewe TV. This makes it possible to share images on iOS without having to use a third-party app. The Loewe app now also provides access to external sources. Pictures, music and videos can also be selected directly via the Loewe app and launched on the TV. Enjoy uniform design and functionality across all devices, because now both the background on the Loewe TV set and the Media Player on the Loewe app adapt dynamically to the preview images. You can quickly browse your favourite content, even from external sources, in the clearly arranged carousel view.
For easy text entry, the Loewe app automatically displays a keyboard symbol (where available). Addresses or search terms can then be entered via the app on the Loewe TV without the need for an additional keyboard.
The design of the Loewe app is just as user-friendly and clearly structured as the Loewe os television user interface. With a single fingertip you can stream, change channels , record, and select your favourite films using the programme guide, or call up background information about the current programme — you literally have everything at hand.
The application also has a digital integrated Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), which provides information on programmes up to seven days before they are broadcast. The Loewe television tuner allows unencrypted programmes to be viewed and played live on mobile devices in the home network.
The highlight of the app is the new Mobile Recording feature. Stuck in traffic? Or still at the office? No problem! You can now also schedule video recordings remotely. This means you can record programmes while watching another channel with a single tap of the app, no matter whether you are at home or on the move. The DR+ feature then enables content stored in the DR+ archive to be watched on your TV set, smartphone or tablet.
Another special feature: users no longer need to miss anything as they can stop their programme on their Loewe TV and then simply continue watching on their tablet, smartphone or a second television.
Loewe — we invented the television
Founded in 1923 by the brothers Siegmund and David Ludwig Loewe, Loewe presented the world´s first electronic film transmission at the 8th Berlin Radio Exhibition in 1931, earning a mention on the front page of the New York Times. The brilliant inventor and physicist Manfred von Ardenne, Loewe’s Chief Engineer, camp up with the technology. This marked Loewe’s invention of the television. Loewe also developed the first portable television. And that’s not all. Loewe Art 1 — now a design icon — was exhibited in the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in the 1980s.
Loewe devices are still made in Germany — and with great passion, enthusiasm and extensive expertise. The development, production and service departments are based in Kronach (Upper Franconia). Loewe products have been perfected down to the last detail. Modular technology, premium materials, precise workmanship, regular software updates and timeless design guarantee sustainable Loewe products.
