Munich / Kronach, March 12, 2018. At this year's iF Design Award ceremony in Munich, Kronach-based Loewe Technologies GmbH was honoured with three of these high-profile and prestigious international awards. The Loewe klang m1 portable Bluetooth speaker won the iF GOLD AWARD, while the bild 3 and bild 5 oled TVs each received the iF DESIGN AWARD. These awards support the product development approach and current market positioning pursued by Germany's premium consumer electronics manufacturer. This year the winning products were selected from over 6,400 entries from 54 countries.
“We are delighted that three of these prestigious iF Design Awards have gone to Loewe this year. For our employees, this is a great confirmation of our development and production approaches at the German sites. And at the same time, it spurs us on to continue to focus on high-end technology and design,” commented Mark Hüsges, Managing Partner at Loewe.
The iF DESIGN AWARD is presented annually by the world's oldest independent design institution, the iF International Forum Design GmbH, and is among the most prestigious and largest design competitions in the world. A 63-person jury made up of independent and international experts selected Loewe to receive three of these design quality marques, recognised as symbols of design excellence.

Loewe — we invented the television
Founded in 1923 by the brothers Siegmund and David Ludwig Loewe, Loewe presented the world´s first electronic film transmission at the 8th Berlin Radio Exhibition in 1931, earning a mention on the front page of the New York Times. The brilliant inventor and physicist Manfred von Ardenne, Loewe’s Chief Engineer, camp up with the technology. This marked Loewe’s invention of the television. Loewe also developed the first portable television. And that’s not all. Loewe Art 1 — now a design icon — was exhibited in the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in the 1980s.
Loewe devices are still made in Germany — and with great passion, enthusiasm and extensive expertise. The development, production and service departments are based in Kronach (Upper Franconia). Loewe products have been perfected down to the last detail. Modular technology, premium materials, precise workmanship, regular software updates and timeless design guarantee sustainable Loewe products.
